Venova supports CSV imports from most banks and financial tools. You can also import JSON files exported from other Venova installations.

For CSV imports, Venova will attempt to auto-detect your column layout. You'll get a preview screen where you can map columns (date, amount, description, category) before confirming the import.

Step-by-step import

Go to Settings → Import Data. Drag and drop your file or click "Browse" to select it. Review the column mapping on the preview screen. Venova highlights any rows it couldn't parse so you can fix them.

Duplicate detection runs automatically: if a transaction with the same date, amount, and description already exists, Venova flags it and lets you skip or merge.
